We are very pleased to announce that we have further enhanced our World Youth Day pilgrimage to Poland.
1. Mass in Łódź Cathedral
During our stay in Łódź, we shall now celebrate Mass in the Cathedral. Bishop John Sherrington will lead the Westminster pilgrims in this historic cathedral – we are grateful to the Rector for allowing us to celebrate in this beautiful space. We hope to be given access to their remarkable undercroft where their state-of-the-art cinema provides a atmospheric backdrop to the history of the City.
2. Our Lady of Częstochowa
On route to Krakow from Lodz, we’ll be stopping at the Jasna Góra Shrine, the most famous Polish shrine to Mary and the country’s greatest place of pilgrimage. The most famous treasure there is the image of the Black Madonna of Częstochowa – also known as Our Lady of Częstochowa. We shall celebrate Mass here, too. More information on the Shrine can be found here.
