Today was our final full day at Lourdes! It’s been a remarkable week and here I summarise the final day and include reflections from a few of my colleagues.
Rain was a persistent companion in today’s events, but this didn’t stop us from continuing with our schedule, which included Mass, youth events and a procession!
We’re now halfway through our Lourdes pilgrimage! It’s been a busy few days, but fortunately today was slightly less intense, giving many of us a bit more time to reflect on the pilgrimage so far.
From Bernadette’s parish life, to discussing Freedom and Obedience, to the Torchlight Procession, it’s been another joyful and packed day in Lourdes!
Today was our first full day at Lourdes, and we were thrown right into the mix of things straight away, with Mass, Catechesis, Reconciliation and much more!
The team has just got back from 24 hours in Łódź, where the Diocese of Westminster will spend its Mission Week, before the main World Youth Day events in Kraków next year.

Since returning to England from the Holy Land, I’ve been able to spend a few days recovering from that non-stop, action-packed adventure. After much sleeping, it’s back to work and reflecting on that incredible pilgrimage to the land of Jesus.
Standing in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Palestine, today was a powerful and moving experience.
