POPE2016.COM: Polish President Andrzej Duda has recorded a special video message to encourage young people from all over the world to come to World Youth Day in southern Poland at the end of July.

World Youth Day, which will held from July 26 to 31 in and around the city of Krakow, will be “a festival of youth, joy and prayer,” the Polish president says in the video.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Friends, thousands of pilgrims from all over the world will soon be arriving in Krakow for World Youth Day,” President Duda says in the video in English. “I will also be honoured to welcome Pope Francis for the first time on Polish soil. We are looking forward to a festival of youth, joy and prayer. It will be a special event in a special place. Christians from all continents will come to Krakow, a city which was so dear to our beloved saint John Paul II. I strongly believe that all pilgrims who visit Poland at the end of July will establish new long-lasting friendships and fall in love with my country. We are waiting for you with open arms and open hearts. See you in Krakow.”
