As I move into my fifth year with the diocese, I reflect on the blessings I have received during this time and how lucky I am to work alongside so many wonderful people.

Our Curia is jam-packed with talented people pulling together to support a truly diverse diocese; it’s a great time to be in Westminster.

At a very local level, I have witnessed an amazing growth in our agency and youth is striding forward at a fair pace and is led by a great team; all driven to build the youth agenda, we’re here for them.

Last year was a joy as we ventured to World Youth Day in Poland, got to work on our new residential building at SPEC in Pinner, and supported countless parishes and a variety of ways.

This year, 2017 will also be very special.

We’ll be accompanying over 1,000 teenagers to Flame 17 at Wembley Arena in March and then leading a pilgrimage to Rome for young adults in June. Before we have chance to blink, we’ll be seeing the paint dry on our new residential building at SPEC and the opening ceremony is penciled for July.

Also in the summer, we’ll be supporting the Redcaps in Lourdes and I’ll be giving my daughter away as she’s getting married; the reception at SPEC, of course!

Come September and the new academic year, and SPEC will open for residential retreats and what a campus we’ll have in place. If you want to have a look at our progress then please drop me an email and a tour would be a pleasure.

Christmas is a now distant memory as we head into the new year, and all I remember from that time is one of my dogs breaking a leg but that’s a whole different story!

God Bless and Prayers.
