Rome Weekend Pilgrimage


About the event

Join us on an exciting pilgrimage to Rome in June 2017! During this long weekend, we will be led by the Diocesan Youth Chaplain, Fr David Reilly, and the team, as we explore the great sites of the Eternal City, including the Vatican, the Colosseum and much more.

Space are limited to 25 people.

Closing day for applications is WEDNESDAY 26 APRIL

The pilgrimage will incorporate a Vatican tour, will includes: tours of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel; a walking tour of the Vatican Gardens; and a tour of the Gardens of the Pontifical Villas.

Friday 16 June

04:45 – Meet at Heathrow Airport T5
07:00 – Fly to Rome!
10:35 – Arrive in Rome
Coach to accommodation (Domus Carmelitana)
Visit Scavi (TBC)
Visit St Peter’s Bacillica
Evening free

Saturday 17 June

Leave for Vatican Tours
Tour of Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel
Vatican Gardens
Train from Vatican City to Pontifical Villas
Tour of Gardens of Pontifical Villas
‘Free time’ for Lunch and Mass, and exploring Albano Laziale
Gather back to get train back to the city
Arrive back in central Rome
Evening Free

Sunday 18 June

Mass at English College
Bus to St Pauls Outside The Walls
Lunch nearby
Lateran basilica, Scarla santa,
Bacillica of San Clemente
Free afternoon… Options to include: Colosseum, etc.; Coach to Nettuno for beach and St Maria Goretti shrine

Monday 19 June

Mass at Cardinal’s church, Most Holy Redeemer and St Alphonsus (TBC)
St Maria Maggiorie church

17:30 – Flight leaves
